TUESDAY 13TH
BE GROUNDED AND SETTLED IN FAITH
Colossians 1:3, “If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the Gospel, which ye have heard , and which is preached to every created creature which is under Heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister.”
The crux of Christianity hinges on faith in Christ Jesus for it is written in Roman 1:17b “…the righteous will live by faith”. We are therefore admonished to continue in the faith and never to be moved away from the hope of the Gospel of Christ for therein lies our eternal security. However faith can only be derived when we feed our spirits with God’s word for “faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God” (Romans 10:17). So, if you really want to be grounded and settled in faith, know and understood God’s word.
Look at Father Abraham, the Bible reports in Romans 4:19-20, “And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah’s womb: He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.”
Abraham knew that God was faithful to keeping His promise, so he was determined not to be swayed by his physical conditions or that of Sarah. It is one thing to pray out of routine but it is another to pray with understanding and thanksgiving along with a heart full of faith and assurance that God will certainly show up on your case. Be like Father Abraham. It may not look like it, but you too can choose not to stagger in unbelief. GOD IS WELL ABLE!
FURTHER STUDY: Ephesians 4:14, “That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.”
CONFESSION: I BOLDLY CONFESS I AM NOT MOVED BY WHAT I SEE; I REFUSE TO STAGGER IN UNBELIEF, I AM VICTORIOUS!
ACTION POINT: Study the Word of God today and bank new revelations by praying in the Spirit.
ONE YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN: Matthew 14; Mark 6; Luke 9
