FRIDAY 9TH
PRAY FOR OUR LEADERS
1 Timothy 2:1-2, “I exhort therefore, that first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings , and for all that are In authority; that we my lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.”
In the words of John C. Maxwell, everything rises and falls on leadership. Bill Hybell once said, “When the leader gets better, the organization gets better.” As believers, we must begin to appreciate the enormous demand and complexity of leadership. When we begin to understand the pain associated with leadership which are so numerous, we would stop complaining and criticizing and begin praying for our leaders.
As important as leaders are to the development of any nation, church, organization or business, leaders are also usually the first point of attack of negative forces or elements. The Bible tells us why. Matthew 26:31 says, “then Jesus said to them, all of you will be made to stumble because of Me this night, for it is written: I will strike the shepherd and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.”
Every time there is a gang up to sabotage any nation, the leader always take the greatest hit. We must therefore take our place in intercession and pray for our leaders at all levels, for their families, for their health, and for wisdom and fortitude to lead right!
FURTHER STUDY: 1 Kings 3:9, “Therefore give to your servant an understanding heart to judge your people that I may discern between good and evil. For who is able to judge this great people of Yours?
