SATURDAY 10TH
ARE YOU A TRUE FRIEND?
Proverbs 17:17. “A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.”
True friendship is a gift from God. There is nothing more interesting and empowering like having at least one person who genuinely cares about your wellbeing and looks out for you. We all want people in our lives who display unwaveringly loyalty, commitment and love. But look, the Bible teaches us in Acts 20:35b, “…and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus how He said it is more blessed to give than to receive,”
Yes, I know that you would love to have a true friend in life, someone who will stand beside you during the dark nights and encourage you. But my question to you today is this, “Are you a TRUE FRIEND TO SOMEONE ELSE?” Galatians 6:7 says, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he reap.” If you sow true friendship into the life of others (God’s word cannot be broken) a harvest of true friends will be heading your way.
Choose to be loyal, trustworthy and dependable. Minister strength and encouragement to those God has brought your way. Be more concerned about helping people get better and stronger than talking about their weaknesses and failures. Do unto others what you would want them to do unto you. Don’t be a fair-weather friend; stand solidly by your friends through thick and thin. This attitude will prove that you are a true disciple of Jesus Christ!
