PRAY FOR NIGERIA

Psalm 127:1, “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”

Praise God, our dear nation Nigeria is 55 today. This calls for mega celebrations. Contrary to the opinion of many experts, Nigeria is still standing as one indivisible nation under God. We have been through the fire and through the rain but we can truly say, through it all, God has been more than faithful.
As we stand at this cross road of our nation’s destiny and future, it is very important that we realize that the best gift we can give our nation is prayers. If we truly desire a better tomorrow for our great nation, then we cannot overemphasize the need for continued heartfelt prayers. The word of God is very clear about the need for believers to pray for their nation in Psalm 122:6. It says, Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.”
Instead of complaining and murmuring, take proactive steps towards enforcing change by laying all the challenges at the feet of the Lord. As a people, we must not fail to intercede for our land that the Lord will restore our lost glory and reorder our steps, and that He would set us on a path of continuous progress and fill our cities with righteousness in place of corruption!

FURTHER STUDY: 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

CONFESSION: I BOLDLY CONFESS NIGERIA BELONGS TO THE LORD, THINGS ARE WORKING FOR GOOD. THE FEAR OF GOD IS REPLACING CORRUPTION EVERYWHERE.

ACTION POINT: Take out a few minutes and pray fervently in the Spirit for Nigeria.

ONE YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN: Matthew 4; Luke 4 – 5
