SUNDAY 4TH
PRAYER WORKS BEST WITH THANKSGIVING
Philippians 4:6, “Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
Today happens to be first Sunday in October: OUR MONTH OF PRAYER. And as is our culture in Amazing Grace Church, the first Sunday of every month is our Thanksgiving Celebration Service.
There is a strong connection between the efficacy of prayer and thanksgiving as shown to us clearly in our anchor Scripture. Thanksgiving can be said to be the right envelop a believer can use to post his letter of prayers to God. Thanksgiving makes our prayers of request appealing and admirable to God for speedy intervention. Psalm 50:14-15 paints a graphic picture of this truth. It says, “Offer unto God thanksgiving, and pay thy vows unto the Most High: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee and thou shalt glorify me.”
Thanksgiving provokes God’s presence and attention in the day of trouble. As a believer who wants to see greater results in the place of prayer, you must realize that the altar of prayer is not an altar of complaint. God is not moved by tears, He is stirred to action by praise and thanksgiving. The prayer of thanksgiving is the one of the best forms of prayer because it works wonders. No matter how bad you think your case it, choose to pray with thanksgiving and get ready for great miracles!
FURTHER STUDY: John 11:41-44, “Then they took the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus said, Father, I thank you… And when He had spoken, He cried Lazarus come forth. And he that was dead came forth.”
CONFESSION: I BOLDLY CONFESS I HAVE LEARNT TO PRAY WITH THANKSGIVING, EVERY DEAD SITUATION IN MY LIFE IS COMING BACK TO LIFE!
ACTION POINT: Pray rightly, convert your prayers to thanksgiving.
