FRIDAY 6TH NOVEMBER

FRIDAY 6TH

ARE YOU HELPFUL FOR MINISTRY?

2 Timothy 4:10-11 (AMP), “For Demas has deserted me for the love of this present world and has gone to Thessalonica; Crestens has gone to Galilee, Titus to Dalmatia. Luke alone is with me. Get Mark and bring him with you, for he is very helpful for the ministry.”

Every believer in Christ has been called into ministry; ministry is not just for pastors and church staff but the responsibility of every believer including YOU! 2 Corinthians 5:18 says, “All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.”
Let this truth sink deeply into your spirit: We have all been given the ministry of reconciliation. Some believers as identified in our anchor Scripture were not committed to the work of ministry because of the love of this present world. They have deserted the work in pursuit of life’s pressure, have you?
Listen dear friend, when it is all said and done, the only important thing in life is what we do for the sake of the Gospel. Refuse to be like ‘Demas the deserter’, instead choose to be like Mark, be very helpful for the ministry. Choose to be dependable, reliable and available, use your skills, talents and resources for the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Make your life count for the sake of the Gospel.
Colossians 4:17 says, “…and say to Archippus (insert your name). Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfill it.” God by privilege has given you a glorious opportunity to serve in the ministry. Leave no stone unturned, see that you fulfill your ministry! Listen, many may mock you, but refuse to allow their mockery weary you because the more they mock you, the more God makes you! Serve in the ministry, reduce the load of work from the shoulders of your man of God, share in the labours, become a helper of the work!

FURTHER STUDY: 1 Chronicles 19:1-2, “Now there were the men who came to David at Ziklag while he was still a fugitive from Saul and they were among the mighty men, helpers of the war, armed with bows, using  both the right hand and the left hurling stones and shooting arrows with the bows.”

CONFESSION: I BOLDLY CONFESS, I KNOW MY PLACE IN GOD’S KINGDOM AND I WON’T FAIL. I AM A STEWARD OF GOD’S GRACE; I AM HELPFUL FOR GOD’S WORK.

ACTION POINT: Join a service unit in your local church and serve with all your heart.

ONE YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN: Luke 22; John 13
